“When I came to Mount Zion, I had never really learned to seek God on my own without the support and encouragement of others around me. I tended to use my surroundings as a 'crutch'; I just followed along because it was easy and the right thing to do. Growing up in a Christian home, I had a lot of Bible knowledge and I was proud of it too, but I didn’t have a deep relationship with Jesus, nor did I have that much of a desire to either. Here at Mount Zion, God has challenged me in many ways, but especially in the area of seeking after Him for myself—alone. It has been the times when I obeyed this leading that I have really experienced God for myself. Without a doubt, these have been my most memorable and enjoyable times. It is not a duty, ritual, or form of legalism that I have found, but it is a relationship of love that draws me closer to Christ.”
“The Lord has done many things in my life during the past two years spent at Mount Zion. He has taken what was a fearful, bound, and oppressed girl and turned her into a free, joyful, loving testimony of His goodness and grace. In learning to seek the Lord for myself, I have found that the key to a life of victory is simply knowing Jesus intimately.”
