Do students live on campus?

Yes, all of our students live on campus in dormitories. We have one men's dormitory, and two ladies dormitories. There are usually two students per room.

We do not have housing on campus for married students; therefore any married students are required to find their own housing in the area.

Only married students may live off the campus.

Are there any additional costs for schooling?

There are no additional costs for schooling, but students will need sufficient funds to cover their personal needs (i.e. toiletries, laundry soap, etc.).

Mount Zion International School of Ministry is a non-accredited school.

What is the purpose of Mount Zion International School of Ministry?

The heart and vision of Mount Zion International School of Ministry is to raise up young people who know God intimately and will give the entirety of their lives to serve Him. We look for students who are serious about wanting to know the Lord and are willing to give Him their all, to follow where He leads. We have a good academic program, founded on the Word of God. We believe the closer an individual walks with Jesus and the better they know Him and His heart, the better equipped they are to present Him to others.

How many students normally attend Mount Zion International School of Ministry?

There are approximately 125-135 students attending Mount Zion International School of Ministry each year, which includes first, second and third year students. We will always keep our attendance low in order to maintain a family atmosphere.

Is there an age limit?

Mount Zion International School of Ministry accepts students between the ages of 17 - 39.

Why is there an age limit?

We are not prejudice against any age but it has been our experience that those who have been established in life and have had a career for several years find it somewhat difficult to adjust to dormitory life and the strenuous and intense structure of this school.

What are some of the guidelines of the school?

The heart of Mount Zion International School of Ministry is to provide an atmosphere where students are able to focus completely on the Lord without many of the distractions of day to day life. For this reason there are certain guidelines in order to maintain this atmosphere.

Dating
While on campus students are asked to forgo pursuing dating relationships.

Computers and Television
Students are asked not to bring computers or televisions to school.

Dress Code
During classes and chapel, women's attire is a white long-sleeved or 3/4-length blouse with a collar. Along with a solid-colored black, navy, dark grey, dark brown or burgundy skirt.

The attire for men is a long-sleeved dress shirt and tie, with dark or neutral colored dress slacks.

During free time, students may wear casual clothing of their choice that is modest and        loose-fitting.

Are students accepted for the spring semester if they are unable to begin in the fall semester?

All students begin their course of study in the fall semester only.

Is there any opportunity to minister outside the campus?

Each student is involved in at least one outreach to the community. On average, each student will go out on one outreach every one to two weeks.

* After classes each day students are free. The fellowship center and gym are open for student use at this time. In addition, most of the outreaches to the community take place in the afternoons after classes. Extracurricular activities, such as choir practice and voluntary prayer meetings may also take place in the afternoons.

Weekends
The students are free of classes on the weekends. We take the students to local shopping centers on a rotating schedule; it averages that each student goes shopping once a month. Visitors weekend is the fourth weekend of every month where students may go home for the weekend. Students also enjoy walking to a state park (that borders the campus) which has a lake, or to a nearby general store.

Every other Friday night there is an optional late night prayer meeting.

The students plan a weekly fellowship for Saturday evenings which may include games or sports.

How much space do I have in the dorm room?

Usually there are two students per dorm room and each room is furnished with either wardrobes or small closets. Due to space constraints we ask that students refrain from bringing extra furniture (ie bean bag chairs, inflatable furniture, etc) and large trunks.

Can a student have a job while in school?

Students may not have outside employment during their time at Mount Zion International School of Ministry. Married students are permitted to work, as long as it will not interfere with their school schedule.

Are cars permissible to have on campus?

Automobiles are permitted only during the internship.The school provides transportation for shopping and other off campus outings.

Are students allowed to have cell phones?

Students are not permitted to have cell phones. Phones are available in each dormitory for student use. Calls may be made by either using calling cards or collect calls.

Are you able to issue student visas for international students?

Yes, we have been approved by the government to issue an I-20 visa. We have had students from the following countries: Ireland, Northern Ireland (U.K.), Latvia, Peru, the Netherlands, Mongolia, Germany, Grenada, Canada, Trinidad & Tobego, India, Poland, Czech Republic, France, England, Macedonia, Australia, and Norway.

Many of the alumni are working within ministries. Some are pastors and others are missionaries.
