Campus Life
Campus life at Mount Zion International School of Ministry can be described best by the word “family”. Through the years, many students have come to call Mount Zion their second home. The intimate atmosphere is maintained by intentionally keeping our enrollment low, so everybody knows everybody and lifelong friendships are developed. The students come with the same heart – a heart full of love for their Lord Jesus! This in itself creates a tight bond within the student body.
The Lord has blessed our campus with a beautiful and functional Fellowship Center. Students can enjoy getting to know their classmates and fellowship over a cup of coffee, hot chocolate, or ice cream. A ping-pong table is available as well as various board games. The atmosphere of this facility is complete with a large, stone fireplace and comfortable sofas and chairs. Many school and church activities take place throughout the year in this building, as it also houses full kitchen facilities. Students can feel free to play their guitars and sing and share their experiences with each other as they relax in this most picturesque structure, which is bordered with large windows. The view is breathtaking as you can see the Blue Mountain range, wide-open fields, and ponds that are available for those who enjoy fishing.
A small student-run school store is also located in the Fellowship Center where necessities are available to students for a nominal fee.
If you were to wander away from the Fellowship Center on a quest to observe other areas of Mount Zion student life, you may see young people walking in the fields or sitting quietly at one of the many benches throughout the 100-acre campus, gleaning truth from God’s Word, and others worshipping and praying. Some have said the fields are the best part of Mount Zion, because there they can meet with God one-on-one!
The school has a large gymnasium, which has basketball and volleyball courts. A small weight room is available for those who like to workout with weights. The campus also has an outdoor basketball court and volleyball net for the students’ enjoyment. Often you can see students jogging the perimeter of the campus or playing softball in the manicured ball field.
Student fellowships are an important part of the social life at Mount Zion. Each Saturday night students gather together for a time of fellowship and fun. Men and women attend separate fellowships on Saturday nights and come together for a co-ed fellowship the third Saturday of every month.
Dress Code
During all chapel services and classes, students are expected to remain in school uniform. No clothing that is tight or form fitting is permitted. We expect all students to adhere to the Apostles' Paul and Peter’s admonition to dress with modesty and discretion (1 Timothy 2:9; 1 Peter 3:3,4). Detailed list of dress guidelines will be sent to student upon acceptance.

Students may wear casual clothing, such as pants or jeans, during free time and while carrying out cleaning duties and chores. While wearing pants, ladies are required to wear shirts/sweaters long enough to reach the mid-thigh or cover the hips. The weather in fall and spring is warm during the day (60-70 degrees) and cool in the evenings. The winter is very cold, and it often snows, so you will need a warm winter coat, boots, hat, gloves and scarf. Bring sweaters or jackets for the fall and spring.
Vacations
There is a scheduled Thanksgiving and Christmas break. No other vacations during the school year are scheduled. There are scheduled visiting days once a month where students can leave Friday afternoon with their family and return Sunday morning for church. Due to the intensity of studies, leaves will be limited to family weddings and emergency situations.
